It’s not everyday that you come across a receiver with the takedown pin detent and spring threaded for capture, but it’s possible. I have not come across a lower receiver, until this purchase, where almost every components is threaded for capture. Another sore spot for installation for me, has to be the pivot pin detent and spring. I’ve built a few AR-15’S, but this is my first AR-10. While this pivot pin’s detent and spring is not threaded for capture, it is easier to install than a typical AR-15 pivot pin due to it’s location and setup being different from the AR-15 platform. The forward assist and bolt catch are threaded for easy installation also. The retainer screw for the fitment of the upper and lower is also a great help. Every lower that I’ve purchased has this threaded, but none had the screw to make the fitment tight. I’m still building with this lower because my barrel is having a fitment issue, but I doubt very much if the problem has to do with this lower. I have ordered a replacement barrel. The PMT-10 is machined as close to perfection as I’ve seen. So if you are a DIYer and novice like myself, this lower makes the build simpler. Saving time and headaches.
